Using Three‐Dimensional Acinar Structures for Molecular and Cell Biological Assays

Epithelial cells grown in three‐dimensional matrix allows one to investigate biological
processes in a setting that is closer to in vivo conditions than those obtained by growing
cells on plastic culture dishes. Here we outline procedures that allow one to investigate
molecular mechanisms that regulate formation and disruption of three‐dimensional
epithelial structures.
